Smoke and Sails

Game 4

The group cautiously walk towards the village. Two men with axes guard the village entrance.

They are greeted by the village elder named Uxxik (ook-sick).  They allowed us to skirt their village and made our way to the ruins. Ykks informed us that some of the cannibals detach their heads, possibly a telltale sign is a thin tattoo encircling their necks.

Federico at night sees fire and hears bestial chittering and rolling boulders near the ruins. It dies before the dawn. The ruins had phosphorescent graffiti and signs of living things that were about in the courtyard. The boyos entered a stairwell that went down into the earth.

Knowing that once they enter the stairwell something nearby would sense them. They hit a dead end but found a hole that was made specially for the artifact Ykks gave them.  Sticking it in the  hole a passage way opened up that leads further into the earth!

Melting corpses were waiting at the bottleneck! 'Rico leapt over Silt while Decius blew a hole in the face of the lead corpse!  'Rico dashed forward and slashed the still standing corpse to ribbons and it falls. As does the next in line. More rise to takes its place.  The greedy dead took their friends back down the hallway to consume  them.

Distracted by their gluttony the group dispatched the rest of the ghouls.  Hearing  3 booted sets of footfalls the groups see a magical barrier. Decius sees this and knows it will last 10minutes. Silt sneaks forward once the spell ends and scouts a shaman and 2 imperitus guards. He reports back and finds 'Rico in a power nap. After relaying the scouted info Silt went back to gain a helpful position.

Hiding near  the shaman Silt waited. The shaman spoke with a portal and came to some agreement. The 2 guards flesh melted and walked into the void. The shaman started to glow and chanted some sort of spell.   Silt waited patiently for the cavalry to arrive.

When 'Rico popped his head around the corner Silt took position  behind the  shaman and stabbed him in the back. The shaman dropped the spell.  Decius fired a bullet and struck true while 'Rico strode forward and slashed brutally at him.  As the shaman readied a spell he was struck down by a spell cast by Decius.

The room was searched and various magical items were found.

Game 3

The group decides to head to the ruin rather than fight a hopeless fight against monsters that ate a ships worth of men. Even if it they may contain our prize. In the direction we head Y'ks warns of cannibals who beat drums and hunt; they are called the Nukekubi.  We hear the drums but still head towards it, hoping to skirt the village and make way to the ruins.

As we make  the tree line a giant lizard attacks. It charges from so far off and Decius shoots it's tail clean off! It retreats into the jungle and we gave chase. Taking us further away from the ruins. Finding it dying in a cave with two more like it consuming it as it dies.

We ambush the lizards and finish what we started.  Rico carves the bodies and finds no sign of the artifact. In fact he finds no contents at all.  Rico and Decius search the feces of the den and finally find our prize! A small onyx rod studded with rubies that radiates sorceress power.

Large primates come in the night and set shifts as they feed on the corpses of the lizards.  We hide in a tree hollow until morning. When day breaks we make a break back towards the volcano. Decius nearly falls into a pit trap set by the primates, letting on they may be smarter than mere apes.

Y'ks finally lets on the cannibals can be night and day. The new information has put Rico on edge. We resolve to head further, towards the ruins.

Game 2

Decius took control of a leathery winged reptile and scouted a village and a trail into the woods,  and a distant volcano. The group decided to follow the tracks and rescue Y'ks.  Sneaking by more reptilian creatures  of various make and  model they made their way along the trail towards the volcano.

Spending the night in a hollowed log the group took turns watching out. On the final shift a hungry large spikeshelled reptile munched some berries. Thr group ventured forth and came upon a field of  sweet smelling flowers. Silt, so entranced by the smell almost shoved his head in to the gaping maw of the hungry, meat eating plants. Saved narrowly by 'Rico who made a very solid pun!

Further past these horrible horticulture they group found foul beasts the size of ostriches covered in black feathers. A fight ensued in which a monstrous bird-like creature summoned forth from Silt  engaged in battle alongside the group. It sustained some damage but held it's own as  combatative part of the group. Killing 2 and driving off 2 other the group was victorious.

Silt destroyed the 3 eggs left behind by piercing the bottom and replacing them in the spot they were left.  Finally making it to the volcano the group found a destroyed camp outside a cave leading further in to the fire mountain. A raucus noise in the forest that shook the ground and the trees drove us inside the cave. Descending deeper in they found Y'ks cowering amongst the magma, he told us the kidnappers were all dead or at least assumed so.

He also said the captain has taken a treasure from him, a black rod of indiscernible power. The group resolved to recover the rod and are debating looking for further treasure.

Game 1

Silt and Decius were hired by Frederico to aid the Espania gov't investigate possible treasure.  The chartered a boat with Cpt. Gruxxasharz (Grue) to the island of Skisgaard aboard his ship The Lizards Talon.  We found King Ratuk of the town Tallis, who told us our contact Y'ks has been missing for weeks.  His servant/slave informed us humans stole him away.  We asked Grue to assist using chasing him down in an uncharted island 2 weeks off the eastern shore of Skisgaard.

When we arrived at the island we noticed signs of monstrous activity in the area and a spookily empty war ship. Grue was convinced to stay offshore and wait a maximum of 2 weeks. Deciphering the journal of the empty warship Decius, we determined the captain was a magic user who works within Integritis called an "Unclean."

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
